Who's the king of the jungle now?

Who's the king of the jungle now?

Anyone unfamiliar with his Tekken 3 outing won't feel the same mix of rage and nostalgia upon seeing Gon. On the one hand he's a familiar face from an excellent game, on the other hand you will have horrible memories of trying to sweep kick the little b'stard in to submission as all your combos and tactics went out of the window.

When he's not being a cheap little so-and-so, he's usually the star of his very own comic. And if you can put aside the urge to punch him in the face for long enough, you'll find that it's actually very good. Besides, if you did try to punch him in the face I don't think you'd be around long enough to regret it. This guy sleeps on a bear.

I'm gonna cut your God damn head off. See if that works.

I'm gonna cut your God damn head off. See if that works.

As the summer months draw closer, new videogame releases inevitably slow to a depressing trickle. Still, David found time to take a look at the recent release of X-Men Origins: Wolverine for the PSP and the upcoming Harry Potter game.

He's also interviewed Rick Madison, CEO of Faithstar Comics. It's a very interesting read even if you wouldn't exactly consider yourself within their desired demographic. Full interview below, and thanks to Rick Madison for taking part.

Schoolgirl Milky Crisis review

Schoolgirl Milky Crisis review

Schoolgirl Milky Crisis. Three words that shouldn’t really be anywhere near each other, yet alone in the same title. They conjure up some pretty disturbing images involving schoolgirls and milk that - yep - they went and put that on the cover. A schoolgirl with udders.

There's actually a lot more to this book from author Jonathan Clements than a disturbing udder girl, which the subtitle 'Adventures in the anime and manga trade' kinda gives away.

You're a very bad person

You're a very bad person

It's a little known fact that I have a reflex impulse that makes me buy any Tezuka hardback I come across. Luckily for me they've all been fantastic, and it doesn't stop with MW. Much more realistic and gritty than his other works, MW deals with some pretty grim topics such as rape, genocide and torture. Yet this is still a distinctly Tezuka comic that even finds time for a few unexpected cameos from his regular cast of characters. Truly a bizzare comic, and one well worth reading.

We're not back, we never went away!

Posted by John Huxley on 16th Feb 09

Well, I guess a little explanation is in order. But before that, I'd like to apologise to anyone who tried to access the homemademech.com domain over the past week or so. Due to a unfortunate set of circumstances the domain expired without my knowledge. If you're interested in the (lengthy & tedious) details hit the jump, otherwise please accept my apology and look forward to some new content in the *very* near future.

Booby boobs go boingy boing

That's a line from one of White's little made-up songs in the Tekkon Kinkreet manga before you think I'm airing my sexual fetishes in public. And a damn good manga it is too. If you've seen the film of not this is a must-read. Have a look through my review if you need a little more convincing, or maybe if you're just bored and want something to pass the time.

Sugar coating

First, apologies for the tardy update. I had meant to get this review up earlier but I kinda didn't feel like doing much with a cold. Better late than never and all that.

Anyway, the point of this post is something else entirely. You might have noticed that almost every review since our return has been given a gold or silver award.

Posted by John Huxley on 7th Jan 09

We've just added a new affiliate, Qubetube, which is long time contributor Marq's blog site. He also runs a podcast called Synthwave Radio, so go pay him a visit and say hello!

And we've also recently completed a new forum template of behalf of Simple Gamer which you can access here. It's actually slightly narrower than the standard template so it might be useful for those of you on smaller displays.

The valmorification was a complete success!

Welcome to the new Anime Boredom Home Made Mech! It's long overdue in more than one sense, so I'll have to apologise for my tardiness and hope the wait was worth it. Not only have we had a complete redesign, there are plenty of new features too.

Not least this little 'more' link thingy which takes you through to read the rest of the post...

Valmorphanize!

Posted by John Huxley on 2nd Jan 09

Err...the site isn't dead. Honest. Far from it, we're actually readying an entirely new version of the site which will be launching in the coming months. No set date yet, but I felt you guys were at least owed an explanation for the lack of activity in recent weeks. But fear not! We have an update ready for the weekend with some good stuff, so keep an eye out.
