Trigun Maximum V. 10

It’s been awhile since I last reviewed Trigun Maximum it seems… this review just proves it.
I did have a review once of Trigun Maximum V. 1, yes I did… maybe I’ll go back and review it again at a future date. But for now… first let’s recap Trigun Maximum past and then look at Volume 10.

Trigun Maximum V. 2 to 3
As Trigun Maximum started sometime had passed since the two volume Trigun mega books (you’ve seen how thick these two volumes are?!?)

Two years have passed since the incident chronicled in Trigun V. 2... Guess I need to review it again also, but all you need to know is that for those two years since the end of Trigun V. 2 it seems Vash the Stampede has been in hiding, but sooner or later that hiding had to come to an end... which it does as Maximum began. Seems his old nemesis from the two volume book is not yet done for, and the "killing game" to eliminate Vash is still on as you are about to see...

Volume 2
Vash, it seems, is heading "home". But where is "home" for Vash anyway?
Seems that somebody else besides Vash knows, that being his nemesis (see earlier graphic novels for more on him and what came before) who is still sending out the strangest killers to try and eliminate Vash.
And if it isn't a samurai killer who'll put Vash down, maybe a "puppet master" type individual can.

And we'll even find time to reconnect with the "dynamic duo" of Millie & Meryl (my favorites of the series who is no longer around as of Trigun Maximum V. 10 which I reviewed this week) and find sometime for Vash to be helpful to someone in need (if he can stay on his feet long enough to do it considering the condition he's in when he goes doing his good deed of the day).

As for the serious intense stuff? Well we'll have more revelations of a sort and a cliffhanger that'll lead to some heavy stuff next time out (Graphic Novel 3).

Volume 3
Speaking of which here’s Volume 3.
Basically it's hell as Vash and Wolfwood end up in the fight of their lives against two of the group of killers out to get Vash. The "puppetmaster" (who seems to also be having a homecoming since he seems to be someone Vash knows), and the monstrous "Gray the Ninelives" who seems unkillable.

The book either deals with the battle itself, or the aftermath and the healing post battle.
At last we see the return of Millie and Meryl as they catch up with Vash, and come in just at the right time… but what the heck happened to them between here and V. 10 is known only to Trigun fans… guess I should reconnect with the series and find out what happened.
And now…

Volume 10
This is going to be even shorter than my other review, only this time it’s not on purpose.
It’s all about Wolfwood. Nicholas Wolfwood, a fan favorite character of the series, and his end.
A man of the cloth with a tortured soul, a past full of bullets… and a frickin’ big gun shaped like a mega cross… most of this story brings him towards his fateful end as he finds himself blasting it out with his former master and Livio (the man who replaced Nicholas as his former master’s disciple, and who once was Nicholas’ friend) before the end comes (which is long in coming and violent in being presented as much shooting and flashbacks must come before the end) and Nicholas is replaced… but by who? Find out when you read this. Breakdown time.

Trigun Maximum Breakdown the 10th
What’s Hot?

Eh. Wow that was short. Anyway I did like the book, even if I was abit short on the review talking about it… anyway don’t take that to mean I didn’t like it because I thought Trigun Maximum was very good… now I just need to reconnect with the series. I mean look how much I missed!

What’s Not?
Look how much I missed… though that is, of course, completely my fault. If I was around for Volumes 3 to 9 I’d know where the heck my two favorite insurance agents went to between the last time I reviewed this and now… where are they?

Moments to Remember?
An entire issue that is mostly one large DragonBall Z length fight. Guess that’s something.

What to Ignore?
The fact that I envoked DragonBall Z in this review. Sorry about that.

Overall?
Nice end for the guy I barely got to know because I didn’t read nearly as much Trigun Maximum as I should have (again I am so sorry for that). So let’s score this just abit under the minimum requirement for a Silver Recommended and point this one up at a 3.5 out of 5. It’s not quite recommended but it’s not quite not recommended either… in other words check it out and make up your own mind about it.
