Serenity Volume 6

At the end of Volume 9, with the words “Congratulations. You’re a Christian.” (said by Serenity’s part time rival Kimberly) Serenity completed her journey to become a Christian, but in turn only began the next phase of her life as a solid member of the Prayer Club (with her new beliefs and life ahead of her).

But here? It’s Volume 6, and the true start of her journey.
You see Serenity is still rehabilitating from her injuries from last issue (a bum leg) and now, in the midst of a blackout, she is about to get a little quality time between herself and her bible (first given to her in Volume One). However once she reads the bible she is going to have a lot of questions, which means it’s time for the Prayer Club to step up and help her out in the second half of the story.

First off let’s cover the basics of how this all came about.
After Serenity really starts reading the bible time passes for her without her noticing it, so much so that she barely notices how long she’s been reading until her mother comes home and shocks her with the revelation that she’s been engrossed in the bible for hours.

Then, after being visited by her friends (FRIENDS, Volume 4, as in like like friends!!) Lori & Sally, she decides to take the trip to youth group. Sadly Lori has to perform sports tonight… hmm… say, wouldn’t it be cool is Hits & Misses featured Lori from Serenity in the cast? Yeah… not happening, but cool.

Anyway first night Serenity REALLY joins the Youth Group (110% seriously joins with lots of questions) she buries the pastor under a large tidal wave of question bubbles which means she has a ton of questions, and only so many pages of this volume to answer them all… wow, we could run a whole spin-off series just on answering every last one of Serenity’s questions from this volume! (Another thing that probably isn’t going to happen, but whatever)!

This title will still answer some of Serenity’s questions, and maybe the readers too while we’re at it. Of course even if you don’t have questions you’ll be interested in seeing this turning point in Serenity’s life. After five volumes she reaches her first major turning point in the title, and truly begins her path towards where she is when the second set of volumes end (a Christian). Join her for the trip.

The first series of Serenity ends, and you’re left with a good start which is picked up and carried well into the second sessions of volumes (formerly spin-off series “Life! Camera! Action!” which we’re going to cover shortly).

Artwork is solid, the writing wraps up well for it’s first run and we’re left wanting more, and while the series did start off abit slow (the first two at only a 4 out of 5) the rest picks up the pace and ends well, as good and perfect as Goofyfoot Gurl for it’s own reasons. A perfect end to a solid series. 5 beginnings out of 5.
