Love Hina Overview
Me and my father were at the mall one day, and I decided to stop into the Walden Bookstore to kill some time. After I made my way into the entrance, I eventually passed by the anime/manga shelves, and decided to take a look at those old DBZ and Pokemon comics I loved as a child.
As I browsed through the books, I eventually came across the Love Hina mangas. Because the title sounded goofy, I pulled the first volume of the series out and began to lip through it. The sexy artwork captured my interest, so I immediately decided that I would have to get and read it. A couple of days later I arrived back at the mall, where I purchased the book and took it home to read.
After I was finished with the volume, I had laughed so hard that a smile seemed to be engraved along my face, and my cheeks hurt. So many of the things that happened to poor Keitaro (the main character) were so unfortunate that they were hilarious, and the other characters and their antics just added to the gut-busting laughs.
A couple of months after reading that first manga book, I had purchased and read all 14 volumes of the series, each as hilarious and exciting as the last. The characters and artwork just continued to get more and more beautiful, and the story never grew dull. When I finished the last volume, I found myself mourning for more of the series, and so I began to watch the anime. However, that is for a different review.
Here are my ratings for this series:
Artwork- 8.5 of 10.
Story- 9.0 of 10.
Characters- 10 of 10.
Content- 7.0 of 10.
Overall- 9 or 10.
All in all, this was an excellent series that any teenager would love. I would have preferred less nudity, though (as determined in the content rating), as it was a bit too excessive for my taste. The story was awesome, although at times it seemed not to go anywhere too fast. The characters were both beautiful and entertaining in each of their own ways, and contributed well to this series. Finally, the artwork was amazing, although it didn't earn itself a high 10 of 10 because at first it was much more plain and un-detailed than it was later on. However, this is rather normal for a long series.
Read this manga if you want a good laugh, or something breathtaking to read on a rainy day. Regardless of why you get I, you won't feel like you've wasted your $10.
