Ah, yet another week of Golden Age Gold Digger. I seem to give this series a lot of 5 out of 5.
I have DVDs to review and all… once I finish playing God of War II. Don’t you wish I’d review that for you, wouldn’t you… but no game reviews here so, well, sorry.

Gina seems to be in an unnaturally good mood, after spending some time with her new guy (who’ll soon become part of an interesting love triangle starting… this volume…) she is headed to a little field trip to the Bermuda Triangle for a little investigation of strange readings. However it looks like she’s going to have to share quality aircraft space with her rival Penny, her now on shaky ground “boyfriend” Ryan, and Ace. Yeah, that can’t be a good trip especially with Penny causing a little mischief.

However that all seems to pale once the gang get to the triangle and end up taking a surreal trip through time and space chasing a talking intelligent dog and his pet muscle man. Yeah, wonder where this idea came from… oh, wait, don’t think, it’s too obvious for words. Too bad this won’t be the last we see of dogboy as he’ll be back for a time spanning series crossover that DIDN’T involve Ben Dunn in a major way… I don’t know why, which made no sense, but whatever, at least Penny got a new “friend” out of the harpy gal they picked up this adventure (soon to be named Charlotte).

Next up it’s a trip to an hidden invisible locale in the desert which supposed to contain a great treasure, but instead seems to contain the plot for a supernatural version of “Prison Break”. Oh, and there’s this witch involved in this plot, but not the same guest star witch from Ninja High School who appeared in the opening volley of the Lich King storyarc last review.

After that it’s a trip to a hidden tropical island (which seems to be “The Retreat” I seem to remember mentioned during the Lich King storyarc, though I could be wrong), where Britanny and Stripe finally are on the road to future marriage (after abit of messy violence). This, however, doesn’t seem to hit it off well with Brianna whose Britanny side of her has the hots for Stripe (which she doesn’t seem to show everytime she takes Genn “for a spin”) so it’s back to the “hidden” supernatural prison and somehow we end up with another situation that may lead to another supernatural version of “Prison Break”… again.

Finally it’s the return of Empress Lynn… only she didn’t go anywhere, so we’re just checking back in with her after so long since we’ve last seen her. This time out we’ll find out abit more about her, and realize that no matter how hot someone is all that just doesn’t matter if said person has an acidic personality (like Lynn for instance, whose personality should be able to burn through the tritanium plating on a starship).
OK, I’m just kidding, if she gets over her personality dysfunction she could actually be cute… mostly since she (to date) had some cute moments when she’s not around Gina, or Khan (KKKHHHHAA…. Sorry).
OK, breakdown time.

Yet another piece of an even dozen books heralding the Golden Age of Gold Digger, it’s drawn well, written well, and is filled with lovable characters and well crafted stories that run like a well written ongoing soap opera which continues to this very day (OBJECTION!).
Uh… yeah… I keep saying OBJECTION (OBJECTION) because the latest storyarc involves a court trial and I keep referring to Phoenix Wright… yeah. 5 engagements “engage!“ out of 5.
