Chrono Crusade GN 4

It’s been building up for sometime now, and as of last Graphic Novel Rosette began to travel the long road to reunification with her brother, Joshua (now a pawn of the sinner Aion).
And by long I mean LONG! As in a transcontinential trip from New York to San Francisco!
Easy, you say? Well this is the 1920’s! Not so easy! And so far the trip has been a trial and error fun with vechicular madness! They’ve started with a car (Rosette, Chrono and Azmaria) only to end up losing that while STILL IN NEW YORK! Then they, along with their new “companion” Satella (who was looking to ax Chrono but not anymore) had to take a train but that lead to a second confrontation with the spider-like female first met in Chrono Crusade GN 2 which lead them to Chicago.

Now, in Chicago, they still have a long way to go to reach the west coast, and Joshua.

Too bad, while they’re in Chicago, they run afoul of two of the demons who are the demonic version of Rosette… no, they don’t go into temper tantrums, throw fits, break things and are lazy half the time.
They are “Pursuers”, which are sort of like sinner hunters, and they are hunting down the sinners who have fled the demonic world. Why? Well, killing 100 of their own kind AND axing “mommy dearest”
(the female entity formerly known as Pandemonium in a world called, yes, Pandemonium) doesn’t exactly win you Demon of the Year rights anywhere.

And even if they can shake their enemies they’ll still have to reach San Francisco, where they’ll have one more chance to be together in fun before the chilling finale which may leave Rosette very dead before the fighting is over. But that is something only Chrono Crusade GN 5 can answer… or can it? Stay tuned.

Chrono Crusade Breakdown the 4th
What’s Hot? - I like this series. And now that you’re getting exposed to both the Anime and the Manga you’ll have just that much more reason to check this series out.
Solidly done all around, from writing to artwork, it’s just a fun intense and good read overall.
One of those titles you can’t put down, it’s a good read that should be in your collection.

What’s Not? - Eck. Here it is. The moment that all hope effectively dies. If you thought they could make it through without someone dying it looks like that won’t be happening… or maybe it might but… ah, it’s all confusing. But let’s just say that during the festival scene in San Francisco you are given the impression (in one sentence) that things just aren’t going to end well when this series comes to an end.
I’d like to think I’m reading too much into it, but somehow I don’t think so. Sigh.

Moments to Remember? - If it’s about Rosette, Chrono, Azmaria and new travelling companion Satella? You’ll find quite abit to remember. There’s some great antics here before the title heads into it’s cliffhanger finale that leads into the piviotal turning point next Graphic Novel. So yes, there is quite abit here.

What to Ignore? - Nothing. I can’t think of a bad thing about this book.

Overall? - As we come towards finale, with a cliffhanger ending to boot, we ready ourselves for Chrono Crusade GN 5 (soon) and realize we are just a short distance away from the finale of the series.
Hope may yet exist, but it’s fading fast as any hope for a happy ending is just slipping away.
But how it’ll all end is going to be a secret that only time, and the next release or possibly two, can answer.
