Mark's list of top 10 anime villains

Anime is best known for it's gripping stories between good and evil. Many of the villains we see in anime make Batman's The Joker or Spiderman's Green Goblin look like small-time crooks. The devilish evil in anime is what attracts me to it, thus my love for villains. I am not simply copying Eric's list. I am just giving my opinion on what I consider my favorite villains.

10. Pycal - Lupin The Third
Appearing in only one Lupin TV episode and his own TV special, Pycal is one of Lupin's toughest rivals. Not only does he use his magic to get through battles, but he also steals Lupin's woman, Fujiko, by seducing her. A seducer, magician and murderer. He seems evil enough to me.

9. Shin - Hokuto No Ken
Kenshiro's evil brother. He forces Ken's girl, Julia, to marry him by stabbing his fingers into Ken's chest. He even creates his own empire that enslaves the weak. Even though Julia continues to be depressed about marrying Shin, he still thinks he can win back Julia's heart until he just goes mad with love. A bit more of a dillusionary psychopath, but still a villain.

8. Doctor Saotome - Getter Robo Armageddon
Though originally an ally of the Getter team in the original series, he becomes an alien invested goul in this OAV series. He sends out waves and waves of robots and aliens to do his bidding at the cost of human lives, all because of the loss over his daughter. This guy has no motives except revenge.

7. Little Boy - Spriggan
Small, fast, insane and deadly, Little Boy is a member of the US Machine Core who does their bidding by attaching invisible strings to different parts of the body while the victims are unaware and snaps limbs clean off. Any character that uses wires in his work and constantly smiles easily qualifies as a villain.

6. Black Ghost - Cyborg 009
I put Black Ghost at the high point on my list not for how he acts, but what his motives are. He wants to create impressive new weapons to profit from war. Death dealers may not seem like that big of an anime villain, but in terms of wanting to destroy the world, Black Ghost has a really good plan laid out rather than just kill the hero and everything will fall into place.

5. Geist - M.D. Geist
Yes, he is a villain and the main character of this anime. How cool is that? He starts out as an ex-soldier for hire, but at the very end quickly turns into a destructive mad man. There is even a sequel that continues his madness in which he unleashes more horrors upon mankind.

4. Ginnai - Black Lion
You could call this guy the Terminator of anime. A robot living in ancient Japan that kills ninjas in the most brutal way possible. Cutting off his head is still not enough as his body will just stick it back on again. If it takes the heroes a long time to take down the main antagonist, he must a good villain.

3. Vincient - Cowboy Bebop Knockin' On Heaven's Door
He has a blank stare, wears black clothing and loves the sight of blood. Yeah, sounds likes a villain to me. The fact that he wants the whole world to suffer through chemical warfare only makes him even more devilishy evil.

2. Incognito - Hellsing
I guess he's suppose to be a demon, but he is the most odd looking demon I have ever seen. Once more, a demon wielding a Armscore 40mm MGL with dark magic rounds makes him a double threat to his victims. Even, Alucard, the so called immortal vampire, had a very tough time dealing with Incognito. For his grand finale, Incognito breeds his MGL out of his arm and summons another demon from hell to help him. In my book, only some kind of demon or psychopath can be considered the a great villain.

...and the #1 villain is (get ready, this will stun you)...

1. Doctor Cohen & Doctor Stinger - Getter Robo Armageddon
You might be in shock as to why I listed these two rarely heard of villains as #1. Well, here is the reason. At first, they are two of Doctor Saotome's scientists who now work for the U.N., but when Saotome starts showing up, the two scientists betray the U.N. and slaughter them. It turns out they have sided with a group of aliens known as the Invaders and they themselves have accepted these organisms into their bodies. I mean, just look how insane they are. Cohen is a big black guy with a yellow beard, impressive sized lips and dark sunglasses, while Stinger is a metal faced psycho who constantly bears his pearly whites. The two even go as far as forming their bodies into other organisms such as large vessels or even the fire on the sun. Trust me, there are very insane and insanity scores big on being a villain. Plus, without any personal motives, they seal the deal.

Well, there you go. Some of you may not agree with my list, but that's okay. This is just me listing off my favorite villains here. That's not to say that these are only my favorites. There are plenty of villains I love, but some just stand out more than others.
