God of War clones! Bring out your God of War clones! What with God of War rolling back to the PSP again anew this November with Ghost of Sparta, the second God of War to date, this is about as good a time as any to roll forth the God of War clones... more or less. And what better way to do a God of War clone than set it in the land of Sparta, homne of Kratos himself. In this game you are trying to get home, which seems to go through foreign lands, the kingdom of Atlantis and the underworld... why you have to lug yourself through so much just to get back to

Sparta? Heaven forbid don't ask me why, I have no clue.

As for the game? This is the very embodiment of all things that is clone of God of War. You go from point A to B in several levels of explorative content hacking generic monsters left and right, minotaurs and clone troops and a few sub bosses and... well... basically it's like God of War only with less variety, and less fun. And yes, you even have button tapping mini games to defeat either monsters like the minotaur or (new) to engage large groups of enemies... but this is also not fun since it's used too often and not in the same way as it

was in God of War. You have weapons, yes, which you can power up God of War style... mostly because they're generic knock offs of the kind of gear given Kratos and lack variety or even innovation, right down to the red spheres used to power the weapons though it tries to innovate by giving you two meters to fill (one for damage and one for special abilities), but that too falls short.

The levels are abit massive for a cheap game, but not very explorative. There are some areas you can take a different path to explore but mostly it's a straight forward A to B walkthrough. Not much there either.

Add to that the substandard sub bosses and the overall substandard gameplay and you'll wonder why you even consider downloading this Mini... probably because it's only a dollar (or whatever currency you use to buy games). It's sad and abit mediocre and average but it's also cheap, so you'll barely miss the one bit you'll need to expend to play this, let alone beat this. A cheap download that will entertain you until God of War Ghost of Sparta is out, so with that all said I'm giving this cloner a 3 out of 5. It's not the greatest but for a dollar a pop it doesn't need to be great, just pass the time while you wait for better.

Don’t worry, I’m not going to take a long long long trip down the dark dungeon of memory lane way back to when Dungeons & Dragons was king. Heck, I won’t even bore you with a recent rememberance of th...
