Homemademech.com down again

Dammit!

I renewed the homemademech.com domain with my current host but as it's in the hands of my old (shitty) host, they took it down. They have no online systems in place to let me renew it, and now they're not responding to their emails! Looks like an expensive call to Canada is the only way to get this resolved, which feels more than a little ludicrous to me.

Anyway, sorry for the disruption. We're not going anywhere, we're just lost in cyberspace for a bit

The people holding our domain are being most unhelpful. I even called Canada and they still wouldn't take my money.

Something tells me they either don't care, they have an ulterior motive or they're just plain incompetent...

...yeah, that last one.

I thought your website had gone forever for some reason... Lucky I checked the old domain and it worked. I think before the old AB domain forwarded to HMM, am I correct? Since when I checked a few days ago, it went to the same page.

Maybe you're going to need to get a new domain, how about homemademech.co.uk? I can pimp it on my blog!

Haha...funny, I'd just registered homemademech.co.uk seconds before I read your post

Should be up soon. To be honest I don't trust my old registrar not to just nick our old domain and point it to porn or something. They certainly seem to be more interested in making it as awkward as possible for me to renew it.

It's a pity because we'd only moved to the homemademech.com domain not that long ago and redirected all the traffic from animeboredom. I'll make a post about it on the front page soon...I was hoping to get it all resolved first and then post, but that doesn't look like happening any time soon...

Anyway, thanks for the visit man. But you may as well wait before you update your links because I'm not sure what's happening right now...

Well do let me know once you've got the new domain working and I'll update the links then. It definitely is a nuisance, I'm guessing a lot of people don't know how to get to the website now that HMM.com isn't working...

Hurrah! Finally back up

Took an agonisingly painful 8 minute phone call to Canada (+ one 4 minute one when they weren't open), but it's done.

May as well redirect the .co.uk domain anyway...
