By Zack: A.K.A. Kioji 28th Apr 04 I would like to start by saying that i've been watching anime since DBZ first aired on Cartoon Network, and have not seen a series as wild as this. I heard about the show, and of course i watched it because it's anime, but i never expected anything like what i saw. The series starts when a young boy named Naota explains how boring his town is. His big brother left for the US to play baseball, leaving his girlfriend Mamimi behind. Mamimi and Naota always hang out by the river, and when they go to buy drinks from the soda machine on a nearby bridge, a misterious girl named Hakura runs Naota over with her moped. From here on out, the story starts to unfold really fast. Later Naota learns that Hakura is his dads housekeaper. When Naota sprouts a robot from his head, things start to really heat up. The robot, named Canti, becomes Naota's personal servent. The secret behind Canti is revealed later in the series. As the series unfolds, so do the mysteries behind the towns iron shaped factory Metal Mechanica, and its purpose, and how Hakura, Canti, Mamimi and Naota are all related. Although some people may not think so, all the episodes are linked together. From the moment that Canti sprouts from Naota's head, to the moment that Hakura tells Naota, "your head is perfect Takun" everything is linked together. The last episode is the one that finally ties everything together, so dont worry if your confused halfway through (we all were). Just be patient and you will understand it, and dont be afraid to watch it more than once. Although episode six is the final episode, it does leave the series open for a "part 2" in some ways. Finally, I would like to say that this is not just your average coming of age story, its action packed and hilarious, and its also beautiful to watch. Studio Gainax did a perfect job on this one, and the soundtrac by The Pillows is excelent. This is an excelent series, a must see, and i highly recomend it. Sayonnara! 10/10
