What They Say

At the dawn of the new millennium, Mankind has awakened a threat unlike any face before - The Angels.

The Review

Visual quality was of a high standard, showing a period of time was spent contributing to it. It seems to show that a lot of effort was made to make sure that the colour and motion of the anime was as close to the original as possible.

Sound quality was of particular high standard making sure feel every note you hear, this goes for both then stereo and mostly the 5.1 Dolby Surround.

The menu system was by the look of it professionally done, with the motion background and the audio background and the simplicity of the menus, giving full effect to draw you in.

Extras would be found on the second DVD where you have a wide selection of a photo galley where you can setup your own sequence, an audio commentary by Amanda Winn Lee voice of Rie Ayanami, an in-depth index of the characters, Eva's & Angels and lastly a selection of trailers and previews.

Packaging consists of a DVD case that can hold two DVDs inside it, which is also contained in a cover sleeve giving it an appealing look. The Art work is of fair quality showing the eerie nature of the movie.

Final Thoughts

After watching the Death part of the movie, with its intertwining stories collected from the series and put together, shows the trials and tribulations of the characters and what they go through. In short it is a brilliant way of telling a story showing light side and the dark side of every situation.

After watching Rebirth, I have found it to be satisfying it the way it begins to close the final chapter of the Evangelion Saga and in the way everything seems to go against the main characters of the series / movie.

On a final note, I would like to state that I found the movie to satisfying and enjoyable.

10/10
