D.N. Angel Volume 5 Darkside of Love
By noghri 5th Jun 06 The fifth volume was really calling for me to watch it as soon as I got it. I quickly watched it, as I was so impressed with the last two volumes. Introduction The developing story appears to coming together and I needed the next instalment to continue that trend. This volume has some very good point but a few bad points also, dark only shows once in this so not a lot of action, but on the flip side a lot of plot development, we see schemes from satoshi’s dad, new characters, death and fanservice. This is a really entertaining volume. as always the characters are explored a little further and the romantic aspect of the last volume spills over to this one. But was that enough to keep me entertained, probably, but lets find out. Episode Content (may contain spoilers) Episode 17 Daisuke's class gets to go to a beach resort for six days and five nights. Daisuke, Riku, Risa and Takashi get to go on a hike. Later Takashi desides to "ditch" Daisuke and Riku are the only one's left because Risa is too tired to on. When Daisuke and Riku are ready to go back, Riku slips! Episode 18 As we left off from Riku falling. She falls but is ok because she had landed on Daisuke. But before they knew it she had a twisted ankle Daisuke wanted to help her by carrying her up the very steep and rocky hill. Later Risa found them and went back to the hotel. Risa was later thinking that Daisuke might look like Dark when he's older. Riku thinks her logic is just crazy. Later Daisuke had to give some medicine to Risa and ending up falling on top of her while Riku was watching and ran away. Daisuke chased after her, and when he finally catches up to her (she runs well for a girl with a sprained ankle) he tells her that it her he is interested in. Episode 19 The cultural festival is coming up soon and everyone is preparing for it. Daisuke needs to think of something to draw. On top of that he is chosen for a role in the play his class will put on. Meanwhile Risa finds a letter written by her grandmother addressed to Dark. What is Risa's reaction to the letter?, well you can find out yourself. Mio starts to question the decisions she made and we discover more about the relationship between her and satishi’s father. And what's the meaning of the snow scene Daisuke keeps picturing? Dark seems to know something but is not letting on. Episode 20 Mio is given one last chance. And Time is slipping by fast from her. Towa and With are acting strange lately. What's the cause of their sudden change in personality? Will Riku have the courage to give Daisuke the necklace that ensures them to stay close forever? And if so what will happen? A lot of unanswered questions at the end of this volume, but that doesn’t put me off, I found this volume enthralling, I really cannot wait until the next volume. This series is turning out to be much deeper than I at first thought and truly entertaining. Lets hope it continues that way.
