Cromartie High School Episode 3 Preview
By David Rasmussen 3rd Apr 05 Dearest Reader It feels as if I’ve been reviewing the Cromartie High School TV Series forever! Of course it’s only been three weeks since they started showing it on FreeOnDemand so it hasn’t been that long… long enough for me to come down with a cold though, but on a bright side it was during my Spring Break so… well, I didn’t get anything done though and I was supposed to go to Kona to pick up a few things but… oh, well, not like I’m short on things to review! Have plenty of things here to look over, so let’s get right down to it! Previously… You’ve learned the Way of the Kamiyama in Episode 1. You learned how to debut in high school as a delinquent, as well as how to win a competition to prove who has… the strongest and most unbreakable back… or something. Then you learned that you can take three long intro sequences and reduce them to pointless cameos! The rest you had to read Cromartie High School GN 1 to learn. Then you learned the Way of the Mechazawa in Episode 2. You learned that drugs were bad for you… of course they only said that in the manga, they avoided using the word “drugs” in the English Dub of the Anime. You also learned not to judge a mecha by his technology, as well as the proper way to fight someone… and you heard a lot of “Well, Mechazawa, I’m going to tell you straight up…” (more or less) and just when you thought people were going to tell him he’s a robot… well, you know the rest. If that’s the kind of stuff you learned so far, imagine what you’ll learn THIS week! Episode 3 This week is… wait a minute! I’ll hum the review to you… (humming)… You got it? You heard of that storyline, right? No? Let me hum it to you again… (humming) No? Still haven’t heard of it? Want me to hum it again… oh-kay! OK! Stay put! As you can see this episode is about a lot of the cast humming a specific tune or two to each other because they remember the lyrics, but can’t remember the words or the title of the song. And to think it all started with “Freddie” in “concert” with the gorilla playing guitar and Mechazawa as audience to the event. Then the whole “I need help with a name of a song “ began and soon most of the episode was nothing more than humming. It’s like “Name That Tune”, only worse for people like me who (even when the song is played during the ending credits) still don’t know what song it is! Yes, I saw the name of the song on the ending credit roll, but I’m still clueless about it. So I’m not into music, you noticed that, I know. The only thing I know about this episode is this… it’s a wasted episode, and the worse episode ever since nothing really interesting happens… unless you count endless humming as interesting, which I don’t. After I watched the episode I decided to spend the rest of the time playing Pikman 2, since imminent danger to my health seemed more interesting than deciphering this episode. What’s with the dire health warning at the beginning of Pikman 2? I take it it’s a warning related to the “deadly flash” thing which caused seizures when it happened during that infamous episode of Poke’mon. Yeah. Lots of things flash on this game, but I guess I’m not one of those people who suffer from this since I haven’t had a seizure yet while playing it. Well, before I start my Pikman 2 review here I better wrap up my Cromartie High School review. Cromartie High School Episode 3 Breakdown What’s Hot? - Well… it’s a good series, really, and I’ve said positive things about it in the past so check my last two reviews for all the praise I have heaped on this show. What’s Not? - This episode, that’s what’s NOT. I always thought there might be a dud episode of this series, I just didn’t think I’d see it so fast! Episode 3 is the worse episode of this series I’ve seen, and one of the worse I’ve seen overall. I don’t know but something is lost in the translation I think since this whole humming-bird episode is for the birds. Please ADVFilms, no more. Moments to Remember? - Uh… Mechazawa talks? Uh… a horse runs loose in the school? Uh… something? Anything? What to Ignore? - Guess! Guess what is so bad about this episode that you might want to ignore it! Guess! Overall? - One of the weakest episodes to date, which is sad since this is only Episode 3, this just doesn’t do nothing for me at all. Hum, hum, hum… hum, hum, hum… bleah.
